Creating Effective Rubrics

Rubrics help students understand what is expected of them while providing a consistent way to grade and provide feedback on student work. Rubrics are particularly valuable for authentic assessments and can provide useful guidance during self-assessments and peer review. Well-designed rubrics can take time to create, but ultimately help save time when grading and explaining assignment criteria during the course. This session will provide tips for creating and using rubrics to provide effective feedback in Canvas. Example rubrics and resources will also be shared.
