Faculty Panel: Strategies and Best Practices for Teaching in an Accelerated Format

Description: Adapting your course to an accelerated format requires special attention to pacing, workload, and other considerations to facilitate student success in just a few weeks. Join us for an overview of strategies and engagement techniques to consider, with advice from experienced Summer Session Faculty. Panelists include:

Keeping Up with What’s New on Canvas

Description:  We have put together a series of Tips & Tricks to ensure you have everything you need to effectively and efficiently prepare your Summer courses. Whether you are new to Canvas or not, there may be some tricks you are unaware of or even possibilities in teaching your course that you have not yet considered.

Leveraging Padlet and Flip for Student Participation in Your Summer Course

Description: In this workshop, learn how Padlet and Flip can be utilized in your summer course to enhance student participation. Padlet is primarily a visual collaboration tool that allows users to create digital bulletin boards, while Flip is a video-based discussion platform that focuses on asynchronous video conversations. Both can be leveraged in an accelerated course to strengthen student connections with content and with one another.

Using Panopto to Create DIY Videos for Courses

Description: Create videos using Panopto which is an easy to use video platform which provides screencasting, lecture capture, live streaming, and video content management. In this workshop you will learn how to use Panopto and get tips on what to be mindful of when creating content for your courses. Whether you are on camera or just recording a screencast, learning tips to improve your on camera presence and utilizing the features that Panopto offers will help you create more engaging videos for your courses.
