Employee & Labor Relations Learning Series - Understanding Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs)

Employee & Labor Relations Learning Series - Understanding Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) Online

Session # 2 - Understanding Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs)

The assessment of employee performance takes into consideration the unique responsibilities of the employee and his/her overall contributions. At times, performance assessments reveal areas of improvement and require the implementation of a plan to address deficiencies. The University refers to such plans as Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs). We will discuss Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) in reference to AFT professional staff members, CWA-covered staff members, and IFPTE staff members.

During this session, you will:

  • Determine when a PIP may be necessary
  • Understand PIPs for AFT represented employees
  • Understand PIPs for CWA represented employees
  • Understand PIPs for IFPTE represented employees
