 Understanding Performance Assessment Reviews (PARs) and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs)

The Performance Assessment Review (PAR) and an annual performance review are tools used to evaluate employee performance. We will discuss the performance assessment review process (“PAR”), which applies to our Civil service covered employees represented by: IFPTE, NJSOLEA, NJLESA and PBA-SLEU (Police Unions), and CWA. We will also discuss the annual performance review process which applies to AFT professional staff members.

During this session, you will:

  • Review Civil Service requirements
  • Understand the PAR cycle and timelines
  • Understand annual performance review requirements
