Stakeholder Management: PM 101 Learning Series IN-PERSON | COLE 340
PM 101: Workshop 2 - Stakeholder Management
Location: In-Person | COLE 340
Date: Oct 10, 2024
Time: 1pm – 3pm
Facilitator: David Vincenti
All projects are done for people, and understanding their goals, interests, emotions, and conflicts early in the project can be vitally important for the success of the project. Overall, it is “who” that defines the deliverables and outcomes of projects, and it is also “who” that sponsors and pays for the project work. Stakeholder management is an important first step in all projects, and in this workshop, we will focus on understanding the importance of this domain and apply two important tools in this domain.
As a part of the workshop, we are planning two activities:
- Identify and analyze stakeholders on a sample project
- Plan engagement with the key stakeholders
Benefits
To Participants:
- Learn to identify and analyze the needs of people who have an interest in the success (or failure!) of your project (stakeholders).
- Develop tactics for engaging and communicating with stakeholders to increase their support and the success of your projects.
To the University:
- Equip project managers with tools to ensure all parties with an interest in the planning, execution, and completion of projects are engaged successfully, completely, and at appropriate times.
