Summer Institute 2026

Instructional Technology and Design Services (ITDS) invites you to our 2026 Summer Institute for Teaching, Learning and Technology. Join us as we celebrate 21 years of learning, collaboration, and innovation!

Our theme for this year, Humanizing Learning: From Content to Connection, means designing experiences that recognize students as whole people. It’s about incorporating the rich perspectives, experiences, and questions they bring into our classrooms, and creating environments where they feel seen, valued, and capable.

Our keynote speaker this year is Dr. Michelle Miller, author of:

  • Minds Online: Teaching Effectively with Technology,
  • Remembering and Forgetting in the Age of Technology: Teaching, Learning, and the Science of Memory in a Wired World
  • A Teacher’s Guide to Learning Student Names: Why You Should, Why It’s Hard, How You Can.

Dr. Miller completed her Ph.D. in cognitive psychology and behavioral neuroscience at the University of California, Los Angeles. She is the Co-Executive Director of the Institute for Advancing Applications of AI, a Professor of Psychological Sciences and President’s Distinguished Teaching Fellow at Northern Arizona University.

Each day will include a variety of presentations and workshops to inspire, support and engage you.
