SUMMARY:Introduction to Project Management: PM 101 Learning Series IN-PERSON | COLE 141
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nPM 101: Workshop 1 - Introduction to Project
Management\n\nThe Project Management 101 Learning Series is based on Dr. Te
Wu’s book\, “Optimizing Project Management”. It is available for
free digitally from our library. Click here to download. The workshop will
be taught by one of the instructors in the Feliciano School of
Business.\n\nAlso\, in preparation for all these workshops\, we ask
participants to think about the projects that you have done in the past or
currently\, document some of the key challenges and obstacles\, reflect on
how you overcame them and what would you do differently. These will help
to enrich class discussions and can be invaluable for some of the class
 activities. \n\nLocation: In-Person | COLE 141\n\nDate: Sept 11\,
 2025\n\nTime: 1pm – 3pm\n\nFacilitator: Dr. Te Wu – Associate
Professor\, Management\n\n\n\nThe primary goal of this workshop is to
introduce project management and the seven essential questions that every
project manager should ask before embarking on a project. In addition\,
the workshop will introduce the organizing framework of project
management\, including the key principles\, knowledge domains\, life
 cycle\, processes\, tools\, and techniques. Where relevant\, the Project
Management Institute (PMI) and its certifications will be discussed. \n\nAs
a part of the workshop\, we are planning three activities:
\n\n\n	Discussion on the projects in your professional and personal work
\n	Envision how the seven questions apply to your current or previous
projects\n	Examine what many consider to be the most important planning
document in project management – the project charter. \n\n\n
\n\nBenefits\n\nTo Participants:\n\n\n	Gain a working knowledge of the
steps involved in and knowledge required for the successful completion of
projects.\n	Acquire a vocabulary which permits conversations and learnings
across many departments and disciplines.\n	Lay a foundation for the
tactical tools to be learned in future workshops.\n\n\nTo the
University:\n\n\n	Deploy a common vocabulary for conversations and
learnings across many departments and disciplines\, leading to a higher
rate of projects completed on budget\, on schedule\, with expected
results.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nPlease visit the Project Management 101 Learning
Series Canvas course to view additional resources.\n\n \n\nProject
